Happy Birthday - Prints Now Available!

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the first post on this blog, and what a year it has been! I'd like to thank you, my readers. It is truly gratifying to have received tens of thousands of hits over the last year. At this point in time, the Lounge averages hundreds of hits a day, and many of these are repeat visitors.

I endeavor to capture the structures presented in this blog as best I can in order to create a permanent record of their existence, and their grandeur. Many will not be around in a decade's time. They sure don't make 'em like they used to; that buildings like these are left to rot really makes a statement about our collective myopia. The motto of this blog, a quote from my ideological father, really rings true here: "Great architecture has only two natural enemies: water, and stupid men."

To mark the occasion, I have decided to offer a small selection of prints available for purchase. A number of people have contacted me asking whether I sell prints. The short answer is "yes", the long answer is that I typically only sell unlimited editions of prints at sizes of 8X12 and smaller, and that I will only sell prints of works I consider among my best. So I have decided to offer eleven prints for sale through the Lounge, some familiar to my readers, some yet to be blogged, and some from my archives dating back years before this online project began. Both limited and unlimited editions for each print will be available. See below for the photos.

In the year to come, I hope to have the time to update more regularly. I certainly have much to share; in the next few months, look for posts on several asylums, North Brother Island, and a whole slew of other historically significant buildings.

Thank you again, my readers. I wouldn't do it without you.

Cheers,
Richard

Prints

All prints are available unsigned and unmatted in an unlimited edition for $95. Limited editions are listed below the print; only one limited edition will ever be available for any of these images. I will update this post with the numbers remaining in each edition; some of these have been on offer in other venues in the past, which is reflected in the fact that some of the editions have partially sold.

All prints are on archival-quality Kodak Endura papers and can reasonably be expected to last well over a century if properly cared for. Limited edition prints are matted, signed, and numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity as required under New York State law. All prices include shipping within the continental United States.
